Project Overview
This project marked the first time I ever crocheted a bag or constructed a drawstring closure. The pattern was created by VivCrochet and followed her tutorial on YouTube. It was a great step up from making simple flat granny squares.
Lessons & Construction
I started out by learning how to work the centered heart motif into a square panel. After completing the first piece, I decided to go all the way and construct the full bag.
Using a 5.0mm crochet hook, I worked up two matching panels, seamed them together along three sides leaving an opening at the top, and threaded a contrasting red chain through the top row to act as the drawstring cinch. The entire project took about 3 hours to finish, and I ended up gifting the completed pouch to a friend.
